A major illegal prenatal sex determination racket operating in Nakrekal of Nalgonda district has been busted, leading to the arrest of three Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs). Police seized scanning equipment allegedly used for conducting illegal fetal sex determination tests.

According to the police, the accused were caught while allegedly carrying out illegal prenatal sex determination tests, in clear violation of the law. During the operation, officials seized a significant quantity of scanning equipment used in the illegal activities.

Acting on credible information, police conducted a raid at a house in Shivaji Nagar, Nakrekal, where the illegal activity was allegedly being carried out. The main accused were caught red-handed during the operation.

Police arrested Batka Yadagiri and Tekumatla Janaiah, both residents of Nakrekal. According to officials, the duo is repeat offenders who had previously been jailed in connection with similar offences but allegedly resumed their illegal activities after their release.

The accused were also reportedly involved in the case relating to the death of a pregnant woman in Chivvemla mandal, and police have now arrested them again in connection with the latest case.

Investigators said the accused were allegedly operating the racket with the assistance of Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs). Pregnant women were reportedly brought to the Shivaji Nagar house through RMPs from Kesaram and Kattangur, where illegal prenatal sex determination tests were allegedly conducted in violation of the law.

Police suspect that the investigation may uncover more shocking details, including the involvement of additional individuals linked to the racket. A search is currently underway to trace other suspects believed to be connected to the illegal network.

Police said that several key masterminds behind the racket are still absconding. Search operations have been intensified to trace and arrest the remaining accused.
