Kothagudem:The overflowing sewage from damaged drainage lines connected to the public toilets at the Kothagudem bus stand has sparked concern among commuters, with foul odour and unhygienic conditions prevailing at the district headquarters’ main transport hub.

According to local residents and passengers, the outlet drainage system from the bus stand toilets has been damaged, causing wastewater to stagnate within the premises. The persistent sewage overflow has created an unpleasant environment for commuters and visitors.

With the monsoon season underway, there are growing fears that stagnant wastewater could become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of vector-borne diseases and posing a public health hazard.

Residents alleged that the problem has remained unresolved for nearly a month despite its severity. They expressed disappointment over what they described as the apparent inaction of RTC authorities and urged officials to repair the damaged drainage system immediately and restore sanitation at the bus stand to safeguard public health.
