CPI State secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao on Thursday asserted that the party’s primary objective is to establish an egalitarian society free from social and economic disparities.

He alleged that democratic values were being undermined under the Modi government, claiming it had weakened democratic institutions.

He accused the Union government of failing to address key public concerns such as employment, education, healthcare and overall welfare. According to him, the Narendra Modi-led government was prioritising its Hindutva agenda over issues affecting the common people.

The CPI leader said that several countries across the world were increasingly looking towards communist ideals, as greater emphasis was being placed on social equality and public welfare. He maintained that the goal of creating an equitable society could be achieved only through communist principles.

Sambasiva Rao reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of farmers, workers, the poor and other marginalised sections, stating that Communists would continue to fight against policies perceived to be detrimental to their interests. He also opposed any attempts to dispossess poor people of their lands, warning that such actions would be strongly resisted.
