BJP on Thursday organised an awareness meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at Nelakondapalli in Palair Assembly constituency, urging party workers to actively participate in the voter verification process. Addressing the meeting, State BJP spokesperson Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao said an accurate and transparent electoral roll forms the foundation of a strong democracy and called upon party leaders and cadre to cooperate with the Election Commission’s ongoing revision exercise.

He stressed that every eligible voter should be included in the electoral rolls while ensuring that ineligible entries are identified and removed in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines.

Highlighting the responsibilities of Booth Level Agents (BLA-2s), Ramalingeswara Rao said they have a crucial role in verifying voter lists, facilitating the enrolment of eligible voters, correcting errors and monitoring additions and deletions at the booth level. He urged party workers to create awareness among the public and ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with the Election Commission’s norms.

He appealed to party functionaries, booth-level workers and BLA-2 representatives to work in close coordination and remain vigilant to ensure that the revision process is carried out without discrepancies.
