UnionMinister for Health and Family Welfare Jaya Prakash Nadda said that over the last 12 years the country has witnessed a paradigm shift in politics, democracy, diplomacy and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the intellectual meet held under the aegis of the Fourm for Nationalist Thinkers, on “Democracy, Diplomacy and Development” here on Thursday, he said, “PM Modi has redefined India’s political culture. Earlier, politics was often centred around caste, region, and vote-bank considerations, with governments serving only select sections. Today, democracy truly belongs to every citizen, guided by the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”.

Before 2014, democracy was often associated with caste politics, dynastic rule, appeasement, corruption, and non-performance. And, governance was driven more by announcements than implementation, with limited accountability.

However, under Modi’s leadership, Indian politics has undergone a paradigm shift. Merit has replaced dynastic politics, appeasement has given way to “Justice for All,” and governance has become implementation-driven, accountable, deadline-oriented, and focused on performance and results.

As a case in point, Nadda noted that Ayushman Bharat reflects India’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage. After the 2015 World Health Assembly, Prime Minister Modi’s vision to “think big” led to the launch of Ayushman Bharat–PM-JAY within just nine months, providing Rs 5 lakh annual health coverage to 62 crore people, the world’s largest government-funded health insurance programme. In contrast, the Union Minister said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s math seems very weak. He keeps repeating that the Centre has given nothing to Telangana. “For Congress, this has become a habit. They cannot generate anything on their own, yet they keep surviving on what others provide. We are seeing the same story in Himachal Pradesh too.” However, people understand the truth. “A clay pot can boil only once, not again. Congress’ false narrative will not work every time.”

Furthermore, the Congress government in Telangana is not functioning for the people. Rather, it has reduced itself to an ATM for the Delhi Congress. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy himself has stated that the Congress will be given Rs 1,000 crore every year. “This is public money, meant for the welfare and development of Telangana, not for serving the political interests of the Congress high command,” he added.

Nadda said that from the Kaleshwaram project to the Double Bedroom Housing Scheme, Telangana has already witnessed how corruption and unfulfilled promises have betrayed the people. The Congress government must answer where the people’s money is going and why public welfare is being sacrificed to fund politics,” he asked.
