Farmersacross the state can now book their subsidised urea through MeeSeva Centres. The Telangana government on Thursday decided to facilitate farmers in easily booking urea without any problems and to maintain transparency.

The Commissioner, Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) – MeeSeva said in a statement that to enhance transparency and ensure timely distribution of urea, the state agriculture department has made urea booking service available through all MeeSeva Kendras across the state.

The decision was taken as farmers who are unable to book urea through the fertiliser booking app can visit their nearest MeeSeva Kendra and book urea with the help of an operator. IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu will launch the new initiative in collaboration with the agriculture department.

Following the news facility, farmers have to first visit the nearest MeeSeva Kendra with their Pattadar Passbook (PPB) number. The MeeSeva operator will collect the farmer's details and enter the cultivation area and crop details. Then the farmer will book the required quantity of urea with the fertiliser dealer he has selected. In turn, the Booking ID will be issued immediately after the farmer verifies the OTP sent to the registered mobile number.

However, farmers were informed that the Booking ID obtained through Me Seva is valid for only 48 hours excluding the date of booking. Upon receiving the booking ID, farmers should contact their selected fertiliser dealer before the booking period ends to purchase urea. The State Agriculture Department advised farmers to book urea either through the official fertiliser booking app or at Me Seva Kendras. For this, farmers should ensure that the mobile number linked to their Pattadar Passbook is active so they can receive the OTP. The new facility can be availed by all farmers through Meeseva at a nominal service fee of just Rs. 10. In case of any queries or assistance, they can contact the nearest Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), Mandal Agricultural Officer (MAO), or the nearest Meeseva centre.
