Withthe onset of the rainy season, the main roads and internal roads of the colonies within the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) area are becoming worse. Due to the intermittent rains, the BT layer has been washed away in many places, resulting in potholes and gravel being exposed.

As rainwater accumulates in the potholes, motorists are unable to estimate their depth, leading to accidents.

In particular, incidents of two-wheeler riders losing control and falling and sustaining serious injuries are increasing day by day. If this is the case now, people are expressing concern that the condition of the city roads is likely to worsen after the heavy rains.

Roads in Serilingampalli zone areas such as Gachibowli, DLF Junction, Nallagandla, janardhan Reddy flyover , Old MIG Tellapur and the lanes leading to the Old Mumbai National Highway in Cyberabad have been severely damaged.

Employees are facing serious problems due to the formation of potholes on many roads connected to the IT corridor. In the recent light rain, water flowed on the roads in Aminpur and Tellapur areas and gravel came up, increasing the risk of vehicles slipping. Incidents of two-wheelers losing control and falling down due to failure to notice small potholes are frequently reported. The fact that potholes are not visible due to rainwater increases the severity of the accident.

The situation becomes even more dangerous at night. The risk of collision with vehicles coming from behind is also increasing as motorists suddenly change lanes to avoid potholes.

Traffic jams are also increasing due to the poor condition of roads. Employees and students travelling to offices and educational institutions are reaching their destinations late every day. Locals have expressed concern that emergency service vehicles are also being delayed due to traffic congestion and damaged roads.

Sandeep kumar , 26, a resident of Gachibowli, said that special attention be paid to the city's main roads and internal roads of colonies before the monsoon season begins in full force. He demanded permanent repairs with quality BT instead of temporarily filling the potholes.

He suggested strict measures be taken to restore the roads with scientific standards after pipeline, cable and other utility works.

Mohan, 32, an auto driver of UBER, said that the roads in DLF Street, Nallagandla Road and near the Janardhan Reddy Flyover are full of potholes and badly damaged. Every day we have to slow down or take detours to avoid accidents, which waste time and fuel. Passengers also complain about the bumpy ride, and our vehicles need frequent repairs. We urge the authorities to repair these roads at the earliest to ensure safe and smooth travel for everyone.

An officer of the Sherilingampally zone stated that they have taken note of the issues raised by the residents. The departments concerned have been instructed to take up the necessary works, and they will be completed at the earliest.
