TPCC chief Mahesh Goud has said that the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, is committed to the comprehensive development of the revered Hazrat Jahangir Peer Dargah, a symbol of communal harmony located on the outskirts of Inmulnarva Gram Panchayat in Kothur mandal.

Mahesh Goud visited the dargah on Wednesday to attend a traditional feast (Kanduru) organised by his relatives. He was accorded a grand welcome at Kothur Y-Junction by Congress leaders and party workers under the leadership of MLA Veerlapalli Shankar. Later, accompanied by MLA Veerlapalli Shankar and Waqf Board Chairman Azmatullah Hussaini, he offered prayers at the dargah and presented flowers and a ceremonial chadar.

During the visit, farmers and residents from Siddapur, Inmulnarva and nearby villages submitted a representation opposing the proposed dumping yard on the Siddapur outskirts. Responding to their concerns, Mahesh Goud said the State government has already sanctioned funds to provide essential amenities for devotees at the dargah. He assured that all developmental works would be undertaken without causing inconvenience to local residents.

On reports circulating on social media regarding the establishment of a dumping yard in the area, Mahesh Goud clarified that such reports were merely rumours. He said only a proposal had been forwarded and emphasised that he and the Congress leadership were opposed to setting up the dumping yard at the proposed location. He assured the public that efforts would be made to prevent its establishment in the area and relocate the project elsewhere.
