FormerMinister and BRS deputy floor leader Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil its promises to farmers, youth and weaker sections while neglecting several welfare and development programmes launched during the previous BRS regime.

Addressing a BRS membership enrolment and voter awareness meeting in Husnabad on Wednesday, Harish Rao urged party workers to remain vigilant during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He called on party cadres to assist voters in completing required forms and ensure that eligible voters were not removed from the rolls. Recalling the Telangana statehood movement, Harish Rao said BRS leaders had resigned from their posts and made sacrifices for the formation of Telangana. He alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had not made similar sacrifices despite holding the state’s top office.

Highlighting development works carried out during the BRS government, he said Husnabad was upgraded as a revenue division and several key government offices were established in the region. He also credited the previous government with developing the Gouravelli project and Gandi Mahasamudram tank.

Harish Rao further alleged that funds allocated for SC, ST and BC welfare had not reached the intended beneficiaries. He claimed that several welfare schemes introduced by the BRS government had either been discontinued or weakened, while irrigation projects and farmer assistance programmes were facing delays. Several senior BRS leaders attended the meeting.
