In a significant step towards bringing primary healthcare services closer to the people, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, inaugurated a mobile medical van at the Collectorate here on Wednesday. The initiative has been launched with the support of HDFC Bank.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandrasekhar said the mobile medical van is aimed at providing essential healthcare services at the doorsteps of people across Guntur district, particularly those living in rural and underserved areas.

Dr Chandrasekhar further stated that approximately Rs 45 lakh would be spent annually on the operation and maintenance of the newly launched mobile medical van to ensure uninterrupted and quality healthcare services for the public. Representatives of HDFC Bank said the mobile medical van is expected to benefit nearly 1,000 people every month and around 12,000 people annually.
