FormerMinister Ambati Rambabu and Jana Sena Party leaders Narendra and Navarang on Wednesday demanded a probe by a sitting High Court judge, along with a CBI inquiry, into the alleged custodial death of Sai Krishna. Addressing a press conference at Ambati Rambabu’s residence in Siddhartha Nagar, Guntur, the leaders alleged that the coalition government had failed to ensure justice in the case. They expressed concern over the circumstances surrounding Sai Krishna’s death and highlighted the plight of his family, particularly his mother, who they said was seeking answers and justice.

The leaders questioned the manner in which the authorities had handled the incident and called for a transparent and impartial investigation to uncover the facts. They maintained that accountability must be fixed if any wrongdoing is established during the course of the inquiry.

Demanding stringent action against those responsible, they urged the government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and register murder cases against the individuals found involved in the alleged custodial death. They emphasised that regardless of the allegations or charges a person may face, custodial torture and death cannot be justified under any circumstances and are contrary to the principles of justice and the rule of law. The leaders further stated that an investigation conducted under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge would help ensure transparency and public confidence in the inquiry process. They also reiterated their demand for a CBI investigation, saying it would provide an independent assessment of the case. Ambati Rambabu, Narendra and Navarang assured Sai Krishna’s family of their support and said they would continue to raise the issue until justice is delivered. They also called for measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and to strengthensafeguards against custodial abuse.
