MunicipalCorporation Commissioner YO Nandan inspected the ongoing construction of new drainage canals works at Old ZP Office area of Achari Street on Wednesday. He reviewed progress of the works and directed the engineering staff to construct the drainage canals strictly as per approved markings and specifications. He stressed the need to maintain prescribed quality standards at every stage of construction and instructed officials to closely monitor the execution of the project.

The Commissioner that all construction activities should adhere to the stipulated guidelines to facilitate smooth flow of sewage and stormwater. He emphasised the importance of taking adequate precautionary measures to prevent any obstructions and ensure that the works are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

SE Rahantu Jani, EE Chandrayya, Deputy Engineer Raghuram, City Planner Raghunadha Rao, Town Planning Officer Satish, Surveyor Edukondalu, officials from sanitation department, ward secretariat secretaries and other staff participated in the inspection.

Later in the day, the Municipal Commissioner Nandan, as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, conducted a field inspection of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls being undertaken within the municipal limits.

He visited various polling booth areas in Mulapeta, reviewed progress of the voter enumeration process and participated in electoral roll revision exercise by filling out enumeration forms along with supervisors, Booth Level Officers and Booth Level Agents.

The Commissioner interacted with voters and addressed their queries regarding the process. He provided detailed explanations on various aspects of the exercise and clarified misconceptions among public, creating greater awareness about electoral roll revision programme.
