DistrictCollector Dr S Venkateswar inaugurated the newly established Idea Lab and Studio Room at Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) in Tirupati on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship and technology development in the region.

During his visit, the Collector interacted with startups supported by RTIH and reviewed several innovative technologies developed to address challenges in healthcare, infrastructure and society. The innovations showcased included Squint Sense, an AI-powered portable device for diagnosing strabismus, an AI-based intelligent hand rehabilitation glove for post-stroke therapy, Infra Robot for underground drainage monitoring and cleaning, and UniHub, an AI-powered platform designed to accelerate hardware innovation.

He also met participants of the ongoing Drone Bootcamp being conducted at RTIH and interacted with resource person Venkata Kamesh. He appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants and encouraged them to utilise emerging technologies to develop practical solutions while contributing to the country’s growing drone sector.

RTIH Chief Executive Officer Vijayawanth Mathur said Idea Lab has been established to support ideation, design thinking, innovationand prototype development for students, innovators and startups. He said the Studio Room has been created as a dedicated space for podcast production, startup interviews, founder stories, digital content creation and outreach activities, helping entrepreneurs communicate their ideas effectively through multimedia platforms.

Head of Incubation Dr D Pragathi said RTIH remains committed to promoting innovation-driven entrepreneurship and supporting the commercialisation of technology across the state. She highlighted the importance of infrastructure, mentorship and ecosystem support in transforming ideas into successful ventures.

Government officials, startup founders, innovators, mentors, industry representatives, students and RTIH team members participated in the programme. RTIH also acknowledged the support of its ecosystem partners, including Adani Group, Navayuga Group, Amara Raja Group and Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati. Srikalahasti Revenue Divisional Officer Bhanu Prakash Reddy was also present.
