DelhiLieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu will lead Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 from Baansera Park near ITO of the Delhi Development Authority, officials said on Wednesday. DDA is organising celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga at 29 locations across the city, including other parks and green spaces under it, they said.

“The programmes will comprise Yoga asanas, pranayama, breathing exercises, meditation and wellness activities under the guidance of trained instructors,” a statement said.

This year, the theme for celebrations is “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, highlighting the role of Yoga in enhancing physical, mental and emotional well-being across all age groups.

“Through its extensive network of sports complexes, public parks and green spaces, DDA will facilitate large-scale public participation in the observance, reinforcing the message of healthy living, physical fitness and holistic well-being,” it added.

Sandhu will lead the Yoga celebrations at Baansera. He will be joined by DDA Vice Chairman N Saravana Kumar along with other senior DDA officers and distinguished participants. The programmes will comprise Yoga asanas, pranayama, breathing exercises, meditation and wellness activities under the able guidance of trained Yoga instructors deputed by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

Yoga sessions will also be organised at many DDA parks and green spaces including Baansera, Swarn Jayanti Park (Rohini), Coronation Park (Burari), Hauz Khas Park, Satya Park (Naraina Phase-II), District Park (G-17, Paschim Vihar), Ashoka Garden andothers.
