KADAPA:The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has alleged that the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across Andhra Pradesh lacks basic transparency and is being systematically manipulated to purge opposition party supporters from voter lists.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday, former deputy chief minister Amjad Basha and former MLA S Raghurami Reddy stated that the entire revision exercise is riddled with errors and is disproportionately targeting regions where the YSRCP commands a significant base.

The opposition leaders strongly questioned the reliability of using the 2002 voter list as a baseline reference, pointing out that it contains severe omissions and inconsistencies.

To substantiate their claims, they revealed that names of several long-term residents—including members of their own families and villages—were completely missing from the rolls despite living at the same addresses for decades.

Raghurami Reddy further noted that missing door numbers on the reference lists have created severe complications during fieldwork.

He alleged that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are failing to conduct comprehensive door-to-door verifications and that the personnel deployed lack the technical knowledge to fill out the required documentation accurately.
