Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sangathan, Telangana, has announced a ‘Satyagraha’ protest at Gandhi Bhavan on June 20 to condemn the rejection of the Rajya Sabha nomination of Telangana Congress In-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.

According to a statement issued by Rachamalla Siddeshwar on Wednesday, the protest is being organised against what the Congress terms the Election Commission's decision to reject Natarajan's nomination. The organisers appealed to party leaders, workers and supporters to participate in large numbers and make the protest a success.

The Satyagraha, aimed at upholding democratic values and expressing solidarity with the party's stand on the issue, will be held at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad from 10 am to 3 pm on June 20.

Congress leaders are expected to attend the programme and voice their concerns over the developments surrounding the Rajya Sabha nomination. The organisers called upon party cadres from across the state to join the protest and demonstrate their commitment to democratic principles.
