Hyderabad:Leftparties have strongly opposed the decision by the Revanth Reddy government to name a major road near the American Consulate in Hyderabadas Donald Trump Avenue. A meeting of Left parties demanded the withdrawal of the decision. A meeting of Left-wing parties was held on Wednesday at the MB Bhavan (CPM State office) under the chairmanship of CPM State Secretary John Wesley, where a plan of action was announced.

The meeting opined that American imperialism is waging wars against people to plunder the wealth of nations across the globe, effectively draining the lifeblood of the world’s population. Trump’s sanctions against India have devastated the national economy.

The country is suffering further because the Central Government, led by Narendra Modi, has abetted these actions. Although a Congress government is in power in Telangana, it is highly objectionable that decisions are being made that align with the path of the BJP and RSS. The national leadership of the Congress party must respond to and intervene in this matter. In opposition to these moves, it was decided to hold a round-table conference with intellectuals at the Basheerbagh Press Club on June 20 at 10:30 am, and to organise a protest march from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue to the Ambedkar statue on Juen 21.

CPM State Secretary John Wesley, state leaders Bandaru Ravikumar and DG Narasimha Rao; CPI State Secretariat member ET Narasimha and leader Stalin; CPI(ML-Mass Line) state leaders K Rama and Suryam; MCPI(U) State Secretary Gadagoni Ravi; New Democracy State Secretariat member Sadineni Venkateswara Rao; SUCI(C) leader P Teja and RSP State Secretary Janaki Ramulu were present at the meeting.
