Ina major step towards digital service delivery, Mee Seva will discontinue the issuance of paper acknowledgement receipts for applications from June 19. Under the new system, applicants will receive an SMS immediately after submitting their application, containing application details and a link to access the acknowledgement receipt.

According to official instructions, citizens can use the link provided in the SMS to view, download, or print the receipt whenever required. The move is aimed at reducing paper usage and improving convenience for applicants.

Mee Seva operators have been directed not to issue paper receipts after the new system comes into effect. They have also been instructed to ensure that applicants provide a correct and active mobile number at the time of submission so that the acknowledgement SMS reaches them without delay.

Officials said operators must inform applicants that the receipt will be delivered through SMS and advise them to retain the message until the requested service is completed and the certificate is issued. In cases where the SMS is accidentally deleted or lost, operators can use the “Resend SMS” option available in the Mee Seva system to send the acknowledgement again.

Operators have also been asked to assist citizens in accessing and downloading the receipt using the link provided in the message.

The department has warned that strict action will be taken against individuals, who continue issuing paper receipts or violate the new guidelines after June 19, 2026.

With the implementation of the new system, all Mee Seva application acknowledgements will be delivered digitally, enabling citizens to access their receipts conveniently through their mobile phones.
