JangaonMLA Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Tuesday said that the ideals of Dr B.R. Ambedkar continue to serve as the guiding force for the upliftment of Dalits and called upon people to follow his vision in their daily lives.

Speaking after inaugurating a newly installed Ambedkar statue at Ramsagar village in Komuravelli mandal, the MLA said Ambedkar was a visionary leader who ensured equal rights for all citizens and strengthened India’s democratic foundations through the principle of “One Person, One Vote.” Dr Palla said the previous BRS government introduced the Dalit Bandhu scheme to bring economic and socialtransformation among Dalit families by providing direct financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh without bank linkage. He noted that the scheme reduced dependence on loans and eased financial hardships.

The MLA also described the 125-foot Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad as a matter of pride for Telangana. He said Ambedkar memorials should inspire both governments and citizens to work towards social justice and an egalitarian society.
