UnionMinister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Congress party over its stand on the removal of illegal foreign infiltrators from electoral rolls, alleging that it was attempting to create communal divisions for political gain.

Speaking to mediapersons after participating in a ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ programme with RMP doctors at Manakondur, Bandi Sanjay said that no genuine Indian citizen’s voting rights should be affected. However, he maintained that the names of illegal immigrants from countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh must be removed from voter lists.

Questioning the Congress party’s position, he asked whether it supported the deletion of votes belonging to illegal foreign immigrants. He further alleged that Congress was unnecessarily linking foreign Muslims with Indian Muslims and demanded an apology to the Muslim community for creating confusion on the issue.

The Union Minister also dismissed allegations that Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy was obstructing the Hyderabad Metro Phase-II project, describing such claims as baseless propaganda. He said the Central government had consistently supported Telangana’s development through major infrastructure projects and financial assistance.

Highlighting the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government, Bandi Sanjay said the BJP was reaching out to various sections of society to showcase the Centre’s achievements and gather suggestions for future development initiatives. He claimed that the NDA government had focused on welfare, development and transparent governance while extending substantial support to Telangana.

On the Maoist issue, he alleged that extremist ideologies had harmed society and urged those holding such views to join the mainstream. He also accused the Congress of misleading people regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, reiterating that only the names of illegal foreign immigrants would be removed and not those of Indian citizens.
