AICC In-charge General Secretary Meenakshi Natarajan and TPCC Chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud will participate in the training programmes for Booth Level Agents (BLAs) on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Both TPCC and AICC In-charge General Secretary will participate in the Makthal constituency on June 21 and in the Andole constituency on June 23.

The Gandhi Bhavan sources said that the TPCC and AICC In-charge General Secretary will participate in the training programmes to be held in the constituencies where the party leadership is in trouble. The sources further said that already the party completed these training programmes in 105 assembly constituencies and it has to complete in the remaining constituencies.

However, the TPCC Chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud, while participating in the training programme on Tuesday in Sangareddy, said that the SIR process conducted in 2002 was transparent. However, he alleged that the current SIR process is being used to remove the votes of people who are unlikely to support the BJP.

He further alleged that the Election Commission has become a “stooge” of the BJP and claimed that a conspiracy is underway to conduct the SIR process in a manner that benefits communal parties.

“In West Bengal, 9.2 million (92 lakh) votes were illegally deleted under the guise of the SIR process. It would come as no surprise if the votes of Damodara Raja Narasimha, Jagga Reddy, or even my own were deleted during this SIR process. BLAs must play a crucial role in ensuring that our votes remain intact,” he said.

Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha was among the leaders who convinced Sonia Gandhi about the need to grant statehood to Telangana.

“Damodara taught me the basics of politics. Meenakshi Natarajan is one of the few honest individuals in this country. Her nomination was rejected without valid reason. The BJP lacks compassion. BJP leaders wish to remain in power indefinitely and behave like emperors,” he said.

The TPCC Chief added that no one is opposed to any deity, but alleged that the BJP cannot garner votes without invoking the name of God.

“The slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram’ belongs to everyone. Jagga Reddy performs rituals and prayers many times throughout the year. However, we are not the ones seeking votes in the name of God. They promised two crore jobs annually but are instead eliminating existing jobs. No one else will save this country; we must save it ourselves. People do not vote based on religion,” he said.

Mahesh Kumar Goud also alleged that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had claimed he did not eat for 10 days when Telangana was formed. He further alleged that the BJP is backing Pawan Kalyan, hence, he is acting according to the BJP’s directions.

“We do not need your sympathy. The public is noticing your conspiracies,” he said.

Responding to remarks made by Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Mahesh Kumar Goud said that Kishan Reddy had accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of making inappropriate statements.

“You can build the Sabarmati Riverfront, but when we propose cleaning the Musi River, you withhold funds. You do not provide answers. Union Minister Kishan Reddy must answer these questions. On one side, the BJP, and on the other, the BRS, are unable to tolerate the development taking place in the state,” he said.
