NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha said yoga is essential for journalists, photographers and media professionals who constantly work under pressure in the fast-paced media industry. Media Theme Yoga programme organised as part of Yogandhra-2026 at Haritha Berm Park in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The Collector performed yoga exercises along with representatives from print, electronic and digital media. An artistic yoga performance by children was one of the highlights of the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Lakshmisha said that media professionals often face challenges arising from tight deadlines, field assignments and stressful working conditions, and yoga can help them overcome stress and improve their professional efficiency. The collector also appreciated the role of the media in creating awareness about International Yoga Day. District Information and Public Relations Officer KV Ramana Rao, District AYUSH Officer Dr Y Ratnapriyadarshini, District Intermediate Education Officer B Prabhakara Rao, Youth Welfare Officer Dr Kolleti Ramesh, District Sports Development Officer K Koteswara Rao and other officials participated in the programme.
