AndhraPradesh police sportspersons delivered an outstanding performance at various national-level All India Police competitions, winning a total of 39 medals across weightlifting, badminton, judo clusters and the police duty meet, bringing laurels to the State and the police department.

The medal winners met Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta at the AP Police Headquarters in Mangalagiri on Tuesday. Congratulating the athletes, the DGP praised them for enhancing the prestige of Andhra Pradesh Police at the national level and encouraged them to achieve greater success in future national and international competitions.

In the 3rd All India Police Weightlifting Cluster 2026-27 (Yoga, Weightlifting and Powerlifting), conducted by Haryana Police at Madhuban from May 23 to 27, AP Police athletes secured 17 medals, including 4 gold, 12 silver and 1 bronze. Notably, all these medals were won in the Yoga category.

At the 2nd All India Police Badminton Cluster 2025-26 held in Lucknow from May 9 to 13 under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Police, the AP Police team won 10 medals, comprising 2 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals. Of these, four bronze medals came in Table Tennis, while Badminton contributed two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

The State contingent also excelled at the National Police Duty Meet 2025-26, held in Nagpur from March 29 to April 3, winning four silver medals. In the Judo Cluster 2025-26, conducted in Jammu & Kashmir from October 8 to 16, 2025, AP Police athletes claimed eight medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals in events such as Taekwondo, Karate and Pencak Silat.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) N Madhusudana Reddy, IGP (EAGLE) Ake Ravi Krishna, IGP (Sports) KV Mohan Rao, DIG Welfare & Sports KKN Anburajan and other senior police officers attended the programme.
