Reiteratingthe Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy city, Municipal Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra conducted an extensive field inspection of sanitation and waste management works across several parts of the city on Tuesday.

He visited Mahatma Gandhi Road, Low Bridge, BRTS Road, Krishnaveni Cloth Market, Nizam Gate and Gandhi Hill areas to review sanitation maintenance, garbage clearance and drain-cleaning activities. At the Krishnaveni Cloth Market near Panja Centre, he inspected the ongoing desilting works in drainage canals.

Later, at Nizam Gate, the Commissioner examined the removal of floating waste from canals and instructed officials to ensure continuous monitoring to prevent garbage accumulation, especially in view of the approaching monsoon season. Later, the Commissioner also inspected the Anna Canteen near Gandhi Women’s College in One-Town. He reviewed the quality of food being served, cleanliness of the kitchen, sanitation standards and drinking water facilities.

In-Charge Chief Engineer P Satyakumari, Deputy City Planner Chandrabose, Executive Engineers J Srinivas and Gopala Krishnamurthy, Assistant Medical Health Officer Dr Annapurna and other staff members accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
