DrFr Xavier Rex, Correspondent and Principal of Carmel Degree College, Mandavalli, Mancherial District, emphasised that a teacher should not only be an instructor but also a mentor and source of inspiration for students.

He was addressing the faculty during a workshop on Transformative Education and AI Ethics at St Theresa’s College for Women (A) here on Tuesday.

He discussed the strengths and weaknesses of today’s youth, their desires and aspirations that sometimes lead them astray, and highlighted the responsibility of teachers to guide them onto the right path. He urged teachers to interact with students beyond the classroom, fostering friendships that help bring out their inner potential, humility, and discipline.

He also advised educators to adopt innovative teaching methods that align with the rapidly changing needs of society.
