Followingthe instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Vakul Jindal, visible policing is being intensified across the district during nighttime hours.

As part of the initiative, special vehicle checking drives were conducted near the Guntur Toll Gate, major junctions, national highways, busy areas, and other sensitive locations. Guntur district police are carrying out continuous vehicle inspections from night until early morning on Tuesday.

Highway patrol personnel stopped lorries, buses, and other vehicles traveling on national highways and advising drivers to take short breaks. Drivers are encouraged to wash their faces with water and refresh themselves before continuing their journey. Police officials stated that the “Stop – Wash and Go” programme is aimed at preventing road accidents caused by driver fatigue, which is one of the major causes of highway mishaps.

Drivers traveling during night time have been advised to stop their vehicles only at designated parking areas and take rest whenever they feel tired. Police warned that parking vehicles on road margins can lead to serious accidents and urged motorists to avoid such practices.

Vakul Jindal further emphasised that strict action will be taken against drivers who violate traffic rules by overspeeding, driving on the wrong side, or operating vehicles with excess passengers. The police appealed to all motorists to follow traffic regulations and drive responsibly.
