Allarrangements have been made for the free mass Aksharabhyasam ceremony to be held on Wednesday at the hill shrine of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada.

Temple Executive Officer VK Seena Naik, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said that 250 children from across the state have already been registered online to participate in the sacred ceremony.

The EO said that parents who completed online registration must report to the sixth floor of the Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam on Indrakeeladri by 6 am on Wednesday and produce their registration documents before the temple authorities.

He said that entry to the venue would be restricted to the child and his or her parents, while others would not be permitted.

He clarified that prior online registration is mandatory and no fresh entries would be allowed on the day of the event. According to Vedic scholars, the auspicious muhurtham for the Aksharabhyasam ceremony has been fixed at 8.06 am. The children would be initiated into learning amid Vedic chants and traditional rituals.
