Vijayawada:In a major relief to aspiring teachers, the state government has relaxed the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) requirement for candidates applying for various posts in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs).

Announcing the decision on Tuesday, Samagra Shiksha state project director (SPD) B Srinivasa Rao said candidates applying for the posts of principals, contract residential teachers (CRTs) and post graduate teachers (PGTs) in KGBVs need not possess TET qualification at the time of application.
