Suryapet:District Collector Tejas Nandalal Pawar issued orders suspending SK Mainoddin, a senior assistant in the Zilla Parishad (ZP) office, for allegedly collecting money illegally from Panchayat Secretaries.
Mainoddin had previously served as a senior assistant in Garidepally Mandal. During his tenure there, allegations surfaced that he had extorted money from several Panchayat Secretaries under his jurisdiction. Acting on the Collector’s instructions, an inquiry was conducted into the allegations. The investigation reportedly established, with supporting evidence, that Mainoddin had indeed collected money illegally from Panchayat Secretaries. Based on the inquiry report, Pawar initiated strict disciplinary action against the official. Emphasising that negligence in duty and corruption will not be tolerated, the Collector issued suspension orders. Officials stated that similar action would be taken against any government employee found involved in corrupt practices.
BJP seeks solution for civic issues
Khammam:BJP Khammam 1 Town leaders, led by Town President Gadila Naresh, met Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agastya on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum highlighting civic issues affecting divisions of the city. The leaders requested the installation of speed breakers and streetlights in Mustafa Nagar and nearby areas following a recent road accident near Shanti Nagar School. They also urged the civic body to address waterlogging problems in Kaman Bazaar, Old Bus Stand, Kasba Bazaar, Aziz Galli, and Bommana Centre ahead of the monsoon.
They raised concerns over pending road expansion works near the Railway Station area, alleging inconvenience to locals due to delays in cooperation from stakeholders.
SP hands over insurance cheque
Gadwal:District SP Srinivasa Rao handed over a cheque for Rs 5,00,000 to a deceased ASI’s wife, Sajida Sultana; w/o late MA Samad, an ASI with the Jogulamba Gadwal District Police, who lost his life in a road accident last May. The SP presented the cheque on Tuesday under the Chief Office Welfare Group Personal Accident Insurance scheme.
