SamagraShiksha State Project Director B Srinivasa Rao has stated that there would be a slight delay of about one month in the supply of ‘Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra’ student kits due to adverse international conditions affecting the manufacturing and transportation sectors.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Srinivasa Rao said the government had made elaborate plans to ensure timely distribution of the kits by the reopening of schools. However, the prevailing international war-like situation, shortage of gas and crude oil, and scarcity of raw materials such as fibre have led to a sharp rise in prices in the global market. He explained that disruptions in transportation and supply chains have affected the production of uniform cloth, school bags, shoes and other kit materials. As a result, suppliers have sought additional time for delivery.

Despite these challenges, the State government is taking steps to ensure that students do not face any inconvenience in their studies. Srinivasa Rao said all efforts are being made to supply textbooks and notebooks to students before schools reopen on June 12.

He further stated that the remaining items, including school bags, shoesand uniforms, would be distributed by the time of the proposed Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (Mega PTM).
