Based on various surveys conducted in phases across the state of Telangana, the government has identified that 15,000 families are currently residing in huts. The Cabinet resolved to immediately issue Indiramma housing sanction orders to all these families. Furthermore, the Cabinet decided to establish Telangana “as a model state, free from huts”

The Minister said that the Cabinet approved an allocation of Rs 1,000 crore to undertake various works in preparation for the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams, scheduled to be held from June 26 to July 7 next year.

The proposals formulated by Telangana DISCOMs (Power Distribution Companies) to join the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), an initiative implemented by the Union government for the development of power distribution and infrastructure, was also ratified in the Cabinet meeting. The previous BRS government, TGSPDCL, and the Union government had already entered a tripartite agreement in 2017 to join the RDSS. The Minister clarified that the state government would not accept the installation of smart meters to agricultural pump sets.

Mid-Day Meal Scheme would be implemented in all Junior Colleges across the state, Srinivas Reddy said. The government also decided to provide breakfast and milk to students in all Junior Colleges from the new academic year. The District Cooperative Marketing Societies (DCMS) would be merged with the state into MARKFED. The Telangana Rural Infrastructure Corporation (TRIC) was merged with the Hyderabad Agricultural Cooperative Association (HACA).

To expedite the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme works, the Minister said, an amount of Rs 587 crore has been allocated for land acquisition, rehabilitation, and the provision of infrastructure facilities for the project.
