Actor Nandu expressed happiness over the positive response received for his latest emotional thriller Ugly Story, which hit theatres recently and has been gaining strong word-of-mouth from audiences. The team held a thank you meet following the film’s impressive reception, where the actor and makers shared their excitement about the movie’s growing success.

Directed by Pranava Swaroop under the banner of Riya Jiya Productions, Ugly Story features cinematography by Sri Sai Kumar Dara, music by Shravan Bharadwaj, and editing by Srikanth Patnaik. The film is produced by Subhashini and Konda Lakshman, while Shivaji Raja, Ravi Teja Mahadasyam, and Pragya Nayan played pivotal roles.

Speaking at the event, Nandu revealed that the film witnessed strong growth from evening shows on its release day itself. He thanked the media and audience for encouraging the movie and said the emotional support he received felt very personal. The actor described the project as one of the most important films in his career and admitted that some emotionally intense scenes were difficult to perform, but necessary for the story.

The actor also stated that his script selection process has evolved and that he now wants to focus more on emotionally strong stories suitable for family audiences. Nandu credited nearly “95 percent” of his performance success to director Pranava Swaroop for shaping the character effectively.

Director Pranava Swaroop shared that the story was inspired by emotional realities seen in society and explored how people remain trapped in certain emotional phases despite changing circumstances. He added that Nandu was the perfect choice for the role and confirmed that his next film would also be emotion-driven.

Producer Bekkem Venugopal said the film’s reception exceeded expectations and described Ugly Story as a major breakthrough that could mark the beginning of Nandu’s successful second innings in Telugu cinema.
