UnionMinister Kishan Reddy described the initiative of providing employment to the youth as a “national mission” born out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to empower youth and strengthen India’s workforce.

Addressing the 19th Rozgar Mela as the chief guest on Saturday, he congratulated young job seekers, and handed over 220 candidates’ appointment letters for central government positions.

The Minister noted that the Rozgar Mela, launched on October 22, 2022, on the occasion of Diwali, has already transformed the lives of over 12 lakh young people across the country. With the latest round, the figure has crossed 12.5 lakh appointments in ministries and public sector undertakings. “Today, in 47 locations across India, 51,000 youths are receiving appointment letters. This is not just recruitment — it is empowerment,” he said.

Reddy emphasised that the government’s focus is not limited to public sector jobs. Massive investments in infrastructure — highways, airports, railways, ports, housing, metro projects, renewable energy, and industrial corridors — are creating millions of private-sector opportunities. He pointed out that annual capital expenditure of Rs 12 lakh crore is driving rapid growth and generating employment at scale. “For every lakh crore invested, 14–15 lakh jobs are created directly and indirectly,” he explained. Highlighting the changing aspirations of India’s youth, the Minister said that young people are increasingly embracing modern technologies alongside traditional courses.

Kishan Reddy urged the newly recruited employees to see themselves as partners in building Viksit Bharat 2047. “You are not just joining government service; you are becoming part of India’s growth story. Work with honesty, creativity, and the spirit of Nation First, Family Next,” he told the recruits.
