TelanganaIT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Saturday accused leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of indulging in “blackmail politics” and attempting to obstruct the State government’s developmental initiatives, particularly the proposed “Bharat Future City” project.

Addressing a press conference at the CLP Media Hall in Hyderabad, Sridhar Babu said opposition parties should engage in constructive criticism instead of pursuing “destructive politics” that hinder the State’s progress.

The Minister alleged that senior BRS leaders, including T Harish Rao and KT Rama Rao, were unable to accept the party’s electoral setbacks and were continuing to indulge in “cheap politics, diversion politics and blackmail politics.” Referring to Harish Rao’s recent remarks during his visit to the United States, Sridhar Babu said the BRS leader was “daydreaming” about returning to power and threatening to cancel the “Bharat Future City” project if the party came back to office.

“The people removed the BRS from power in the Assembly elections and gave the party zero seats in the Parliament elections. Yet they have failed to learn any lesson,” he remarked.

The Minister accused the BRS of earlier trying to obstruct the Musi River rejuvenation project and now conspiring against the Future City initiative. He asserted that the Congress government was moving ahead in line with the aspirations of the people and would not tolerate attempts to derail development.
