BJP State leader Rao Padma Reddy stated on Friday that the Modi government is giving top priority to the comprehensive development of the historic Orugallu metropolitan city (Warangal). Under the Central prestigious “Urban Challenge Fund” (UCF), Telangana has been sanctioned Rs 5,681 crore, of which a massive Rs 4,740-crore package has been approved exclusively for Warangal city, calling it a positive development for people of Orugallu.

In a statement Reddy said that the Centre is committed to transforming Warangal into a future-ready city with world-class infrastructure. She expressed confidence that the funds would provide a permanent solution to the drainage problems that have troubled city residents for decades.

She stated that Rs 4,674 crore has been allocated for the complete modernisation of Warangal’s underground sewerage system.

The implementation of the project would significantly improve sanitation conditions. She noted sanctioning of Rs 166 crore for development of the Khammam–Warangal–Karimnagar corridor would open new avenues for city connectivity and industrial growth.

She added the corridor project would boost the trade and transport sectors while also creating employment opportunities.

The Centre’s allocation of an additional Rs 840 crore for development of Karimnagar-model roads reflects its strong commitment to infrastructure development in the State.

On behalf of people of Warangal, she expressed gratitude to PM Modi, Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar, G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar for announcing such a massive package for Orugallu.

Reddy expressed confidence that the implementation of the mega projects would completely transform Orugallu metropolitan city and significantly improve the people’s standards.
