Twogirl athletes from Prakasam district have been selected to represent the district at the 21st National Fencing Cadet Under-17 Championship.

Prakasam District Fencing Association secretary G Naveen said that Putturu Chakrika and Ankala Tanvi will participate in the Saber category at the national championship. The tournament will be held in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, from May 23 to 28. The two athletes had won medals in individual events at the recent State-level fencing competition held in Tanuku and earned selection for the national event. Prakasam District Fencing Association founder-president V Nageswara Rao and coach Vijayalakshmi congratulated the selected athletes and wished them success at the national championship.
