GunturMunicipal Corporation Commissioner K Mayur Ashok enquired with banking representatives about the details of loans provided so far to SHG groups, including MUDRA loans, PM Vishwakarma, and PM SVANidhi schemes. He emphasised that special focus should be given to the poor, street vendors, artisans, SHG groups, and small entrepreneurs by converging all welfare and livelihood schemes under a single platform.

A special coordination meeting was held at his chamber on Friday that was aimed at integrating various welfare schemes of the Central and State governments to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits in a streamlined manner. Representatives from Guntur Urban Livelihoods Transformation Mission (GULTM), MEPMA, DRDA, District Industries Centre, Lead Bank, and Skill Development agencies participated in the meeting. Speaking on this occasion, Mayur Ashok stated that the objective of the initiative is to identify beneficiaries category-wise and ensure livelihood opportunities through better convergence of Central and state government schemes. He further directed officials to prepare an actionable plan for future programmes in the city. He added that once detailed proposals are submitted, efforts will be made to secure necessary approvals and funds in coordination with relevant departments. KRS Krishnam Naidu, the OSD to Union Minister of State for Rural Development Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, informed that proposalswould be taken up with Central and State government departments to facilitate fund sanction. He also said that a structured committee would beformed under the leadership of the district collector, with the GMC commissioner as the nodal authority.
