APSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Siva Shankar Lotheti has directed executing agencies to fast-track the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations for APSRTC buses across five districts: Nellore, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool, and Tirupati. Addressing a review meeting on Friday, the CMD emphasized that contractors must maintain high quality standards and complete all infrastructure works by June 20 this year.

The high-capacity charging points are being set up under APSPDCL’s close supervision at strategically identified transit hubs, including Mangalam. To prevent project delays, Lotheti instructed field teams to bypass bureaucratic red tape by reporting on-ground difficulties directly to their circle Superintending Engineers.

This protocol ensures immediate, on-the-spot resolution of technical issues to keep the green mobility project firmly on schedule. Senior discom officials, including Directors Ayub Khan and Guravaiah, attended the session
