HaryanaChief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday invited Japanese companies to expand their investments in Haryana, saying the state has emerged as India’s largest hub for Japanese industries and offers a strong ecosystem for global manufacturing, logistics and innovation.

Addressing the Indo-Japan Conclave in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said India and Japan share a long-standing strategic and economic partnership built on common values such as trust, discipline, harmony, respect for tradition and commitment to excellence. He said the two countries can jointly build resilient supply chains and create a next-generation industrial ecosystem for a greener and smarter future.

Major Japanese industrial hub

Saini said Haryana currently hosts nearly 394 Japanese industries and more than 600 Japanese business establishments, making it the preferred destination for Japanese investment in India. He added that Japanese technology and industrial cooperation have significantly contributed to the state’s economic and industrial growth.

Recalling his visit to Japan in October last year, the Chief Minister said nine Japanese companies had committed investments worth nearly Rs. 5,000 crore in Haryana. He said the growing trust between the two sides has transformed Haryana into a “Home Away From Home” for Japanese companies.

The Chief Minister stressed that Haryana values not just business-to-business or government-to-government ties, but also “Heart to Heart” relationships with Japan.

Work culture attracting investors

Explaining why Japanese industries prefer Haryana, Saini said the state has successfully adopted the Japanese work culture that focuses on quality, operational stability, disciplined manpower, reliable supply chains and long-term commitment.

He said industrial regions such as Gurugram, Manesar, Sonipat, Bawal and Jhajjar have evolved into successful examples of India-Japan industrial integration. According to him, Haryana is no longer merely an investment destination but a trusted strategic partner for Japan.

Boost investment potential

Highlighting Haryana’s infrastructure strengths, the Chief Minister said nearly two-thirds of the state lies in the NCR region and every district is connected through national highways. Projects such as the Dedicated Freight Corridor, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Rapid Rail, metro connectivity and greenfield corridors are further strengthening the state’s connectivity. He said Haryana is developing 64 industrial estates, logistics hubs, EV ecosystems, food parks and advanced manufacturing zones, while 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) are also planned.

Saini said the Japanese Industrial Township in Jhajjar and the proposed Japanese cluster in Naraingarh will give a fresh push to India-Japan industrial cooperation.

Automobile and logistics sectors

Inviting Japanese investors to expand their businesses in Haryana, the Chief Minister said the state manufactures nearly 50 per cent of India’s cars and 33 per cent of its two-wheelers, creating strong opportunities in the automobile sector, particularly in Sohna and Kharkhoda IMTs.

He also said Haryana is rapidly emerging as a logistics hub and offers investment opportunities in dry ports, container freight stations and multimodal logistics parks.

Faster clearances

The Chief Minister said the Haryana Government has focused on both “Ease of Doing Business” and “Speed of Doing Business.” More than 140 services are now available digitally under one roof, while project approval time has been reduced from 24 days to 12 days.

To assist Japanese investors, the state government has also established a dedicated “Sakura Desk” to provide support from the pre-investment stage to expansion and issue resolution.

Saini added that Haryana is rapidly progressing in sectors such as electric mobility, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics, green hydrogen and renewable manufacturing. He said Haryana’s MSMEs can also become a vital part of global supply chains through collaboration with Japanese industries.
