Thesleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday carried out raids at the house of Medchal-Malkajgiri Deputy Collector Vamshi Mohan in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case booked against him.

The Rangareddy district ACB special teams carried out searches at eight places linked to him across Medchal and Ranga Reddy districts to collect more details about the DA assets beyond his known sources of income. Mohan earlier worked as Serilingampally RDO. Following allegations that Mohan amassed disproportionate assets, the ACB booked a case against him.

The investigation has also brought attention to allegations linked to government land transactions during Vamsi Mohan’s period as Shamirpet and later Serilingampally revenue officer.

During the investigation, officials reportedly identified nearly eight acres of land in Abdullapurmet and Piglipuram that were allegedly registered in the name of the deputy collector’s father-in-law and later handed over to a realtor for development.

ACB officials also found that the realtor allegedly transferred 10 plots to the deputy collector through gift deeds. The agency is now examining property documents, financial transactions and linked assets as part of the investigation.

ACB teams are also verifying ownership records and other investments connected to the deputy collector and his family members. The assets recovered from his residence are believed to be valued at several hundred crores of rupees, including documents, immovable properties, and movable assets.

Officials said further investigation is underway to determine the total value of the assets and whether they are disproportionate to the officer’s declared income.

Senior ACB officials announced that a case of disproportionate assets has been filed against Vamshi Mohan, and investigations are ongoing to uncover other individuals involved in the corruption network.
