SatyaKumar Yadav visited several rain-affected areas in Dharmavaram on Friday to review sanitation, drainage and civic conditions following overnight rainfall that caused water stagnation and mud accumulation across the town.

Accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Venkataramanayya, municipal staff and local NDA alliance leaders, the Minister inspected key areas including SLV Market, KPT Street, Sridevi Hall Road, Thogata Street, Anjuman Circle and Jatka Stand.

He expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of drainage canals, particularly a major irrigation canal near Sridevi Hall, which he said had significantly narrowed due to encroachments.

He directed officials to conduct an immediate survey and mark encroached portions to ensure the free flow of rainwater during the monsoon season.

He also instructed municipal authorities to strengthen waste management systems, install dustbins where necessary and intensify regular cleaning operations to maintain sanitation standards in the town.

During the inspection, Satya reviewed pothole-ridden roads near Anjuman Circle and ordered immediate patchwork repairs to prevent inconvenience to residents. He warned that even minor negligence during the rainy season could lead to larger civic problems and stressed the need for prompt preventive measures.

Later, Satya Kumar Yadav interacted with street vendors around Anjuman Circle and NTR Circle and assured them that the government remained committed to urban development, sanitation and public welfare.

In a separate programme held at the NDA office in Dharmavaram, the minister distributed Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques worth ₹46.14 lakh to 70 beneficiaries from the constituency. He said the assistance was aimed at supporting financially distressed families facing medical emergencies and serious illnesses.

He stated that over the past two years, financial assistance amounting to ₹9.65 crore had been provided to 913 beneficiaries in the constituency through the CMRF and Letters of Credit schemes.

He added that the government was prioritising healthcare services and ensuring that deserving families received timely support for expensive medical treatment.

The Minister also chaired a review meeting with APTIDCO officials regarding the construction of 1,440 housing units at Regatipalli in Dharmavaram.

Officials informed the meeting that construction works had reached advanced stages and that the houses, along with supporting infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems and water supply facilities, were targeted for completion by August 2026.
