BJP state spokesperson Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao reviewed the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at a constituency-level meeting here on Wednesday. Speaking at the meeting, Namburi explained the importance of the SIR exercise in ensuring that the names of all eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls and in identifying ineligible names, names of deceased persons and duplicate entries.

He said the exercise would help make the electoral rolls more transparent and comprehensive. Namburi asked BLAs to focus on every polling booth in their respective areas and create awareness among voters about the SIR process. They should assist eligible voters in verifying their details and submitting corrections or objections through the prescribed procedure, he said.

He also called upon booth-level workers to coordinate effectively at the grassroots level and give priority to verification of electoral rolls at every booth. Namburi urged BJP workers to work responsibly to ensure the successful completion of the second phase of SIR with the objective of ensuring voting rights for every eligible citizen and maintaining transparent and comprehensive electoral rolls.
