ChiefMinister Anumula Revanth Reddy described Sircilla as a region where courage, devotion and the spirit of struggle have remained deeply rooted. He highlighted the spiritual significance of the region. The Sri Parvathi Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple at Vemulawada stands as a symbol of devotion and Telangana’s historic spirit of resistance, The Chief Minister said while addressing a public meeting here on Wednesday.

Revanth Reddy said the district has earned global recognition for its textile industry. “Clothing was among the first necessities of human civilisation, and Sircilla is a major centre of the textile industry,” he said, adding that thousands of families depend on weaving and textile activities for their livelihood.

He praised the skill of local weavers, saying they have earned recognition for producing globally recognised sarees with their craftsmanship. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticised the previous BRS government, alleging that the problems faced by textile workers, including suicides and migration of workers to Gulf countries, were not adequately addressed. He said his government has introduced measures for Gulf workers and is taking steps to support families of those who die in accidents abroad.

Rs1,700 crore development push for Sircilla

Revanth Reddy said the state government has sanctioned more than Rs 1,700 crore for development works in Rajanna Sircilla district. He added that Rs 1,741 crore has been spent for the welfare of handloom and textile workers.

He said a yarn depot has been established at Vemulawada and steps are being taken for the development of Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple. The Chief Minister also mentioned plans to establish a tahsildar office, Sub-Registrar office, women’s police station, traffic police station and Young India Integrated School in the district.

Sircilla gets political focus: CM promises cabinet berth for Congress winner

Giving special political importance to Sircilla, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that a Congress candidate elected from the Sircilla constituency in the coming elections would be inducted into his cabinet.

He appealed to people to support the Congress party for the development of the constituency and said the government would work according to the aspirations of the people.

The Chief Minister also announced that a representative from the Padmashali community, which has a strong connection with the textile sector, would be given an opportunity in the Legislative Council.

“Sircilla needs a change”

Revanth Reddy urged people to choose between what he described as family-based politics and people-centric governance. He said his government is focused on welfare and development and expressed confidence that Sircilla would witness a transformation.

Several ministers, government advisers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, public representatives and senior officials were present at the meeting.
