Districtpolice have put in place elaborate security arrangements to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the traditional Sri Poleramma Jatara in Venkatagiri.

District Superintendent of Police L Subba Rayudu spearheaded a detailed review meeting with Additional SPs, DSPs, and Circle Inspectors before personally inspecting the temple premises and festival zones alongside key officials. The evaluation focused heavily on optimizing entry and exit routes, queue management, parking zones, and procession pathways to prevent devotee inconvenience. A standout feature of the security blueprint is a stringent four-layer protective deployment around the chariot and temple area, with DSP-level officers directly overseeing critical junctures.

Surveillance has been heavily upgraded: over 70 CCTV cameras have been installed, backed by drones, Quick Reaction Teams, and wireless communication networks monitored continuously through a central Command and Control Centre. Furthermore, strategic police pickets are set up at major bottlenecks like Nagari Point, Veerupana diversion, and local causeways. Enhanced lighting, barricading, and emergency generators are being coordinated alongside the Revenue, Endowments, and Electricity departments to tackle potential power interruptions.

Emphasizing professional conduct, SP Subba Rayudu instructed officers to enforce a “Be Polite, Be Tough” approach—exercising patience and politeness with pilgrims while taking uncompromising legal action against drunken misbehaviour or unlawful disruptions.
