Creatingemployment opportunities for the youth is the sole agenda of the Andhra Pradesh government, Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has said, underlining that the coalition government has set a target of creating 20 lakh jobs to fulfil the aspirations of young people.
Participating in the ‘India Today Conclave South 2026’ in Kochi, Lokesh said the youth were seeking “jobs, jobs and jobs” and that the Chief Minister, Ministers, and officials were working towards creating employment opportunities.
Responding to questions from senior journalist and ‘India Today’ Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai, Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh was attracting investments across sectors and developing specialised clusters and ecosystems. He said nearly 25 per cent of the investments that came to India during the past year were in Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh said the government was focusing on sectors ranging from energy and horticulture to quantum computing and was working with industries to equip youth with the skills required for emerging employment opportunities.
On allegations surrounding the recent DSC teacher recruitment examination, Lokesh said the examination was conducted transparently through a computer-based system and claimed that no allegation had been proved so far.
