Anawareness rally was organised in Vijayawada on Tuesday under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchan campaign to create awareness among the public about the ill-effects of drug abuse.

The 8 Andhra Naval Unit and 8 Andhra Air Wing Unit jointly organised the programme at PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College in Mogalrajapuram. Commanding Officer of 8 Andhra Naval Unit, Commander Sujit Kumar, inaugurated the programme and later administered the pledge to the participants.

Addressing the NCC cadets, Commander Sujit Kumar said the rally was organised to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, following the call given by Deputy Director General of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Directorate, Air Commodore Narsing Sailani, and Kakinada Group Commander Col Ritin Mohan Agarwal.

Around 40 NCC cadets participated in the rally, which began at Siddhartha College Circle and proceeded towards Mogalrajapuram Caves. NCC officers and cadets from PB Siddhartha College, Maris Stella College and Andhra Loyola College, along with NCC staff and personnel of the 8 Andhra Naval and Air Wing units, participated in the programme.
