“TheDistrict Youth Congress is working to strengthen the organisation from the village level and develop a new generation of young leaders through a structured action plan,” district president Vejandla Sai Kumar said.

On Tuesday, Sai Kumar presented a report on the activities undertaken by the Khammam district Youth Congress during the past six months at a state-level Youth Congress workshop in the presence of Youth Congress national in-charge Manish Sharma and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud.

Speaking on the occasion, Sai Kumar said the Youth Congress had organised several protests and agitations in Khammam district over what he described as policies of the Union government.

“The organisation had also identified problems faced by people at the grassroots and worked with local communities towards addressing them,” he said.

“Youth Congress workers were also actively involved in taking welfare programmes implemented by the state government to the people,” he said.

Sai Kumar said the organisation was preparing an action plan to further strengthen the Youth Congress from the village level and involve young people in every village, with the objective of nurturing new leadership.

Youth Congress national in-charge Manish Sharma and Telangana Youth Congress president Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy appreciated Sai Kumar after reviewing the report on the district unit’s activities and its proposed future programme.
