Mahabubabaddistrict police have announced a reward of up to Rs 5,000 for credible information on the use and illegal trafficking of ganja, urging citizens to come forward and assist in tackling the growing drug menace. The initiative aims to strengthen community involvement in identifying and eliminating illegal activities.

Superintendent of Police Dr Shabarish said the department is committed to taking stringent action against drug abuse and the illegal drug trade.

He described substance abuse as a serious social issue that harms youth, disrupts families, and can lead individuals towards criminal activities, emphasising the need for collective responsibility.

He appealed to responsible citizens, youth leaders, and public representatives to actively support the police by sharing reliable information. Authorities assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential, and those providing actionable inputs would be rewarded.

The police also issued a dedicated contact number for the public to report such cases.
