Ina step aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in Anganwadi services, Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy distributed smartphones to Anganwadi teachers on Thursday. The initiative was undertaken at the MLA camp office in Parkal town, covering staff from Parkal town and the mandals of Parkal, Damera, Atmakur and Nadikuda.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the introduction of smartphones would simplify monitoring mechanisms and ensure that quality services reach beneficiaries without delays. He informed that a total of 165 Anganwadi staff under the Parkal project were provided with mobile phones as part of the initiative.

He explained that under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), six essential services are being delivered to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children aged between 0–6 years. The use of smartphones, he said, would help in accurately recording and tracking these services. Digital entry of data related to nutrition distribution, health updates and child development was expected to improve accountability and transparency.

Revuri Prakash Reddy further stated that the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, had been prioritising women’s welfare and strengthening grassroots systems like Anganwadi centres. He noted that the adoption of digital tools would enable regular monitoring of whether nutritious food and essential services were reaching the intended beneficiaries effectively.

Highlighting the broader vision, he said the government was also committed to implementing pre-primary education in government schools to support early childhood development. He emphasised that Anganwadi centres played a crucial role in laying a strong foundation for children’s future and assured that continuous efforts were being made to improve their functioning.
