ChiefMinister N Chandrababu Naidu and minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh on Thursday paid rich tributes to Vicente Ferrer Moncho, founder of the Rural Development Trust (RDT), on the occasion of his birth anniversary, recalling his immense contribution to the upliftment of the poor in the Telugu states.

In a message posted on X, the Chief Minister praised the RDT for its extensive developmental and humanitarian work, benefiting nearly 25 lakh underprivileged and backward-class people across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He urged people to draw inspiration from Ferrer, who came from Spain and dedicated his life to the welfare of the Rayalaseema region, earning deep respect among the people.

Nara Lokesh, in his tribute, described Ferrer as a “God-given gift” to the poor and lauded his lifelong commitment to social service. He noted that Ferrer established the Rural Development Trust decades ago and transformed it into a pillar of support for marginalized communities.

Highlighting RDT’s contributions, Lokesh said the organization played a key role in building hospitals, educational institutions, housing for the poor, self-help groups, and sports infrastructure, thereby driving inclusive development in the region.

As a mark of tribute this year, Lokesh announced that the government has secured FCRA clearance for the RDT, ensuring that its services continue uninterrupted and reach those in need.
